'A Response to Detail '23 -- Yutsuki Minoura'

My favorite project is ”Te Kainga Reserve”, designed by Rhondda Bowen.


Te Kainga Reserve is a reclaimed space that invites community through the creation of an uplifting public domain.


Located in the hilly Dunedin suburb of Corstorphine, it provides an opportunity to create a vibrant space for local residents.


I like this design because it is surrounded by nature, with an elementary school and library, so children will be able to grow up in a relaxed environment.

    I really like  the sound of walking on snow which is pilled up. At first, I love the winter the most in four seasons. Also, I rarely saw snow in my hometown which is Fukuoka, in Japan. I don't remember surely, but I could see snow once a year or two years there because the place is relatively warmer than any places of Japan. Thus, I really used to enjoy walking on snow or having a snowball fight in a childhood whenever it snowed. That's why I love the sound.

The surprising origin of 'Hijack - Mika

 "Hijack" refers to the act of unlawfully seizing control, often applied to situations involving transportation such as aircraft or vehicles. In the U.S., there used to be a trend where criminals, pretending to be acquaintances, would approach people and address them with the common American name 'Jack'. It means the origin of hijack from "Hi, Jack". I think it is similar to "OREORE scam", involves criminals impersonating relatives or friends, claiming to be in urgent need, and deceiving individuals into sending them money. The thoughts of a scammer are found to be universal across the world.

Kapai-- Shanin Hirakawa

  Kapai have several meanings like "Good!", "excellent", "Well done!" or "okay". You can use these expression for conversation to convey positivity and approval. For instance, when appreciating someone's cooking, you could say, " Kai kapai" to compliment the food. By adding "kai" at the top word of "kapai", it means "good food" or "tasty food". In an overall context, it's a compliment to the person who prepared the meal. Also, in other terms, you can use "kapai" if someone does a good job like passing the examination, so you might say "kapai" to praise them.
